The dreaded late fee

Renting self storage in Linden is a great way to free up space at home or in the office. We offer some of the cheapest rates around and even give customers an option of online bill pay. However, like other storage facilities, we have a late fee clause in your rental agreement. Sometimes things get lost in the mail or sometimes you just forget to write the check. It happens to everyone sooner or later. That is why online bill pay or automatic payments are so nice. With these options you no longer need to worry about late fees. With automatic bill pay, your payment is deducted from your bank account on the first of the month. You don't have to do a thing. Everything is taken care of for you. If you prefer to make the online monthly payments yourself, that's ok too. We have text and email alerts set up so that you get plenty of notice before a payment becomes late. $10 late fee's can add up with a maximum of $30 per month that you shouldn't have to worry about. If you aren't already enjoying the worry-free benefits of online bill pay, please call anytime and we can get it set up in minutes for you. Then you can forget about the dreaded storage unit late fee forever.

Clean out your space after moving out

This is a no-brainer for most, but don't forget to clean out your storage space completely upon move out. All storage facilities charge a fee if they have to clean out your items for you. You paid to store your stuff for good reason. Don't forget to take all of it with you when you leave. The storage unit needs to look exactly as it did when you opened it for the first time. If you have a lot of things on the floor or something spilled out, it is a good idea to bring a broom along with you to sweep it up. Skip the $25 fee. Its unnecessary and easily avoidable.

Don't leave your unwanted items on the curb

We will call him Bob. Bob moved out and didn't want a few of his old furniture items. He didn't want to leave them in the unit and get charged for not cleaning it all out so he deciding to put it on the curb in a nicely stacked pile. Don't do what Bob did. It can become very costly. The trash fairy doesn't just magically show up and whisk away Bob's unwanted things to the land of retired broken furniture for free. The town imposes fines to Linden Self Storage if we just leave Bob's stuff on the curb so we have to take care of it properly. This cost is passed on to Bob's final bill and can vary depending on the amount of items to be taken away. We have to pay to have it hauled away as well as the disposal fee. What would have taken Bob and extra 10 minutes to load turns into $200 in fee's. We don't like charging fee's, but we also don't want your stuff. Don't be Bob...

Don't breach your rental agreement

This should be self explanatory, but avoid costly fee's by adhering to your rental agreement when moving into self storage. If your agreement says no liquids and you store them anyway, you are responsible for any spills or damage. The rental agreement is there to protect both the storage unit facility and the storage unit lessee which is you.

Call us when you move out of your storage unit

Other than being common courtesy, its also standard on most storage facility rental agreements. Call when you move out. We need to know that your moved out for a couple reasons. We don't want to bill you for days not used in self storage. We also don't want to have to lose new customers when we are unaware that a unit has become available. More importantly though, we can avoid any extra fee's by confirming that your space is clean on site at the time of your departure.
